Research Policy Unit, Ministry of Education

The unit's area of activity is broad and covers a number of different issues within the research and space policy area. The unit is also responsible for international work within its areas of responsibility, where EU work constitutes a large part. The tasks will focus on handling cases and preparatory work. You will be required to produce materials and develop proposals for government decisions, participate to some extent in agency governance, international issues, and contribute to preparations for meetings and other activities for which the unit is responsible. The tasks require extensive collaboration with colleagues within the ministry and other parts of the Government Offices. The tasks are varied and also involve contacts with authorities and other actors within the research and space policy sector. The tasks entail significant personal responsibility.

Your Background

A relevant academic degree is required for the position, as well as at least 3 years of relevant and current experience in working with research or space policy issues in a politically governed organization or other activities deemed relevant. You have good knowledge through work with research and space policy. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of public administration and relevant regulations. Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, is required for the position.

Experience with research security issues in international collaborations and knowledge of the EU's research and space policy is advantageous for the position. Knowledge of working with open data (OSINT), data collection, or systematic environmental monitoring, as well as experience working in the Government Offices, is also meritorious.

You have good judgment, strong communication skills, and integrity, as well as an understanding of working in a politically governed organization. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
